We're proud to be the first facility world-wide that got a super-resolution Nikon N-SIM structured illumination microscope. N-SIM allows to overcome the diffraction limit by a factor of 2.
Also Nikon has replaced the computers on the Microscopes. Most stations now run on Windows 7 64 bit multi-core workstations with 12 GByte RAM. Together with Windows 7 the most recent version of the NIS-Elements acquisition and analysis software has been installed.Go to NIC@Heidelberg

A primary goal of the NIC@HMS is to provide training in basic and advanced light microscopy techniques. The NIC@HMS offers 1-day workshops that are open to members of academic or other non-profit institutions at no charge.

The new TIRF/FRAP system is now functional since 13th January 2011
The system is installed on the TiE microscope with the perfect focus and the new Nikon TIRF arm illumination. In addition we can make now the photoactivation with the 405 nm laser on the FRAP module.For more details,please check the equipment heading.
