Definition:Matched sets of microscope objectives are parcentric if a specimen centered in the field-of-view of one objective remains centered when the nosepiece is rotated to bring another objective into use.
Parcentricity depends on the quality of the manufacture and the microscope design. An acceptable level of parcentricity is defined by a centre of the microscope field that does not go outside the inner one third of the field-of-view with any microscope objective of a matched set.
